A United Methodist Congregation serving the Field Store Community in Waller County, TX

A Place for You...
New Hope United Methodist Church was established March 25, 1845 and is said to have been one of the first Methodist congregations in the area, started by people who wanted to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others in the community. That same vision is still alive at New Hope as the people who attend here in this current age, seek to 'Love and Serve' others for Jesus Christ.

To make room for the growing community, the current facility has been expanded and completely remodeled with beautiful stained glass windows and furnishings. Plans are also underway to enlarge the Fellowship Hall.

The church is situated in a beautiful and peaceful country setting, not far off the beaten path, but easily accessed from either FM 1488 or Highway 362. Click Here to view Map.   We hope you will come and be our Guest!

Our annual Fish Fry and Auction is great fun and brings in large numbers of folks from our community allowing us to get acquainted while raising funds for future expansions.

Through Holy Baptism, parents commit to raising their children to be Disciples of Jesus Christ and we, the church, commit to support and help them.

The Sounds of Hope Band, a group of talented musicians, enhances worship with their musical gifts
several times a year.

Just as entire families were brought to be baptized by the early Disciples, the United Methodist Church recognizes the work of the Holy Spirit through the water for all ages.

We seek to connect actively with our local school, Field Store Elementary, by providing a delicious hot breakfast and classroom necessaries for staff,  as well as volunteering at the school.

For the past several years, we have chosen Operation Christmas Child for our Christmas Outreach project, collecting goodies weekly and filling shoeboxes to be sent to needy children as Christmas gifts.

Loving and Serving in Jesus' name - that's what it's all about!

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is a wonderful time for families to gather and worship the birth of our Savior.

At our 2018 Kids Adventure Camp,
the children wrote notes and gathered lots of sweet treats for our military troops overseas.

Our Mission at New Hope UMC is to Love & Serve. We do this in Jesus' name to bring people and glory to God. Some of the ways we do this are by supporting:

  • WARM: our local Waller Assistance & Restoration Ministry
  • Worldwide Missions of the United Methodist Church
  • Focusing Families
  • Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoebox Project for Children
  • Tomaqwa
  • And by offering our individual gifts and talents to love and serve within our church and beyond every day of our lives.

NEW HOPE UMC is one of many United Methodist Churches in the Central North District which is part of the Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.

You can read more about each of these organizations and the beliefs, practices, and mission of the United Methodist Church, a global church working to reach others for Jesus Christ around the world.
